We build PaysFair, an earning app that competes with every app on this page. Judge our bias accordingly, and check the numbers below against the sources at the bottom.

On our map, the apps closest to Scrambly are Mistplay, JustPlay, Cash Giraffe and Rewarded Play, plus Freecash. For Scrambly's walking app, the closest is WeWard. Cash Giraffe and JustPlay state smaller cash-outs than Scrambly's $1.

We read every app's own pages on October 23, 2026, and we haven't used any of them ourselves. Where an app's pages disagree with each other, we print every number.

Why do people leave Scrambly?

Its own rules name the reasons. Since its terms of October 21, 2026, you must be 18, where its March terms said 16. It's only open in the US, the UK and Canada.

Before your first withdrawal, you'll pass an ID check whose provider may use your selfie for facial matching. Its systems can hold your account, withdrawals or balance automatically, and tracking can stop if you change devices or reinstall an app.

On iPhone, its app pays for walking and sells Premium for $7.99 a month.

Google's suggestions for this search include "apps like scrambly instant payout" and "apps like freecash and scrambly".

Our Scrambly review covers its rules in full.

What are the best apps like Scrambly?

Six apps on our map that pay for games or steps, then ours. Every fact is the app's own, read on October 23, 2026, unless a date says otherwise.

Mistplay

Mistplay pays for time spent playing mobile games you find through it, and Mistplay Inc. runs it. You must be 18 or older. Its help center says its Android app is for "gamers around the world", and its iPhone app is for the US and Canada.

Rewards are gift cards from brands such as Amazon, Visa and PayPal, and we found no minimum on its own pages. Its terms cap what you can redeem at $550 a year. Gift cards now need an ID check with a selfie, for every player, by a help article edited on October 22, 2026.

You can cash out to PayPal, gift cards or a donation. Its terms say there's "usually no minimum threshold", though it may ask for three hours of play before you can redeem. Coins expire six months after they're credited, if you don't redeem them.

It may ask for a face scan, especially at your first cash-out. Uninstalling the app or moving to a new phone loses your account, its help center says.

What it does better than Scrambly: usually no minimum, and PayPal money shows up "within just a moment", it says.

What it does better than Scrambly: PayPal cash-outs in 124 countries, from age 16.

WeWard

WeWard pays for walking, and WEWARD SAS in Paris runs it. It says it has 30 million walkers in 29 countries. Its terms set the age by your country's law, with 16 in the EU unless national law sets it lower.

You cash out with PayPal or Venmo, or take gift cards. Transfers and gift cards need 14 days of activity first, and its help center says they can take up to 15 business days, usually 2 to 5. You open the app each day to validate your steps.

It also sells Premium, monthly or yearly, which doubles your walking rewards. You can earn Premium with points too.

It's for people 16 or older, and what there is to do depends on your country. It runs on the web and in an Android app on Google Play. Obsidian UG in Germany runs it.

What it does better than Scrambly: it takes people from 16, where Scrambly now requires 18.

We build it, so we don't review it.

What's the catch with apps like Scrambly?

Game makers pay these apps to find new players. "Game developers fund the rewards because they're paying to find players like you," Rewarded Play's app page says. Scrambly's terms say its offers come from advertisers, app developers and advertising networks.

Your account can depend on your phone. JustPlay loses your account if you uninstall it, and Rewarded Play can't restore points for a game you've uninstalled. Scrambly's own terms say a new device or a reinstall may stop tracking.

Most of them check your face. Mistplay, Cash Giraffe and Freecash ask for a selfie, and JustPlay may ask for a face scan. Two apps here sell a paid plan: Scrambly's Premium on iPhone and WeWard's Premium.

How we picked these apps

Our map of the market holds more than 1,100 earning apps, sorted into lanes by what they pay for. Scrambly sits in the game-rewards lane. We took four big apps from that lane, Mistplay, JustPlay, Cash Giraffe and Rewarded Play. We added Freecash, which Google suggests next to Scrambly, and WeWard from the walking lane, for Scrambly's walking app.

We read their pages on October 23, 2026, from a server in the US.
