How to get free Robux: the real ways, and the scams to skip

The free way to get Robux is to earn a Roblox gift card. Answer surveys in a rewards app, swap the points for the card, and redeem it. It costs time, not money, and each app has a minimum age. Robux for nothing is a scam, Roblox says.

On Swagbucks a $10 card costs 1,000 points and gives up to 1,000 Robux. This page walks through that route, every other real one with its age rule, and how the scams work.

How do you get free Robux by answering questions?

Through a rewards app that pays in points and lists Roblox gift cards. We build PaysFair, an earning app that competes with the apps named here, so check their numbers yourself. PaysFair is for people 16 and over.

The whole route takes four steps:

1. Pick an app that lists Roblox cards and accepts your age. Swagbucks takes members from 13, Freecash from 16.
2. Answer surveys, and do the app's other tasks if you like, until you have enough points.
3. Swap the points for a Roblox gift card. On Swagbucks, 1,000 SB buys a $10 card.
4. Redeem the code at roblox.com/redeem in a web browser. Roblox says a $10 card gives up to 1,000 Robux there.

Not every survey pays: many look for a certain kind of person, so plan on the time. Our page on free Roblox gift cards compares the apps that list Roblox cards, with their prices and age rules.

Is free Robux real?

Not the kind that costs nothing. Roblox answers this itself. On its Ways to Get Robux page, the question "Can I earn Free Robux?" gets a one-word answer: no. Robux are bought from Roblox for real money, or earned by people who make things on Roblox. An earned gift card isn't Robux for nothing either: you pay for it with your time.

Its article on generators goes further. "There is no such thing as free Robux or subscription offers, tricks, or codes," it says. If a person, video, website or game tells you otherwise, Roblox calls it a scam and a break of its Terms of Use.

The terms back that up. They say Robux "have no equivalent value in real currency." They also say Roblox doesn't recognize outside services that sell, transfer or buy Robux, and that using one breaks the terms. Roblox can void a deal like that and suspend the account.

So "free" means one of two things. Either it's a scam, or somebody else paid, like the app that pays you for answering surveys.

How do free Robux scams work?

Roblox names what they're after: your password, your personal details, or a click on a bad link. From there, the scammer takes the account, with its Robux and items.

• Generators. Roblox says there's no such thing as a Robux generator. These offers exist to get your password or personal details.
• People, videos, websites and games. Roblox names all four as places where the offer turns up. Whoever tells you about free Robux, the answer is the same.
• Codes. Roblox says there are no free Robux codes either. A real Roblox gift card code is one that somebody paid for.
• Fake purchase claims. Some scams tell you to claim a purchase you never made, to get free Robux. Roblox says that breaks its rules and could get your account deleted.

Roblox's own advice is short. Never type your password anywhere except the Roblox login page, and never share it with another player. Report scam messages, links and experiences with the Report Abuse buttons. And ask a parent or guardian before any purchase.

Do free Robux apps actually work?

Some sites that show up for "free Robux" pay coins for surveys, videos and app trials, then turn the coins into Robux. BLX.GG says it buys a game pass that you create. BloxEarn says it buys a game pass or private server that you choose. That's going by their own home pages on 26 September 2026, and neither page showed a minimum age.

Whether that breaks Roblox's rules is for Roblox to say. Its terms say it doesn't recognize outside services that sell, transfer or buy Robux, and that using one breaks the terms. We don't link these sites, and we wouldn't risk an account on them.

What is the best way to get Robux without spending money?

Here are the real routes, including one that just closed. Each costs something: your time, your work, or somebody else's money.

Which free Robux app is real?

None gives Robux for nothing, but several survey apps list Roblox gift cards. Swagbucks is the one we priced card by card. We read the whole of its public rewards catalogue on 22 September 2026, and it listed four Roblox cards, all at face value:

That's 100 SB per dollar, the same rate as 510 of the 516 US rewards we priced. PayPal cash costs 30 SB more on every amount, so a Roblox card costs less than the same sum in PayPal cash. Freecash's payout catalogue listed Roblox gift cards too when we saved it the same day.

The age rules differ, so check them before you start:

• Swagbucks takes members from 13, and encourages anyone under 18 to get a parent's or guardian's permission first.
• Freecash takes members from 16.

A gift card also comes with a bonus. Roblox says Robux bought with gift cards, or on the web and on computers, come with up to 25% more Robux.

What we can't tell you is how long a card takes. We haven't used these apps for this page. Our guide to how paid surveys work explains why surveys screen people out and what sets the pay. Our page on pending balances explains why money can wait before you can spend it.

Can you still get Robux from Microsoft Rewards?

Maybe, and it's worth checking before you plan on it. On 26 September 2026, Microsoft's own Roblox page still said you can "redeem your Microsoft Rewards points for Robux." It adds that the points you need vary by card value and by market.

The option hasn't always been there. On 1 April 2026, users asked on Microsoft's own Q&A site why the Robux choice had disappeared. So look at the catalogue in your own account first.

Can you still get Robux with Roblox Premium?

Only if you already have it. Since April 30, 2026, Roblox Premium can't be bought. People who already have it keep their monthly Robux, but they can't sign up again once they cancel. Some guides still list Premium as a way to get Robux.

Its replacement, Roblox Plus, costs $4.99 a month. Roblox says Plus comes with no monthly Robux. Those come only with optional bundles, Plus 500, Plus 1000 and Plus 2000, which add that many Robux each month.

Plus did add one thing that matters here. A Plus subscriber can send Robux to another player without a fee. Roblox says everyone involved must be age-verified and 18 or older, and that a parent or caregiver must approve transfers for users under 18.

Can you earn Robux from making games?

Yes. This is the route Roblox itself names for earning Robux. Its own list: sell avatar items on the Marketplace, or build an experience and earn from it. The Developer Exchange, called DevEx, then turns earned Robux into money.

DevEx has firm rules. You must be 13 or older, with a verified email, and hold at least 30,000 earned Robux. The standard rate is $0.0038 per earned Robux, so 30,000 Robux pays $114, going by Roblox's Creator Hub page updated on 25 September 2026.

It takes skill and time, but it's real. Our guide to earning Robux by making things goes further.

Are there free Robux apps for kids?

No app gives kids free Robux, and the apps that pay in gift cards set age limits. What's open depends on your age:

• Under 13: neither Swagbucks nor Freecash will take you. A gift card from a parent, or Robux they buy for you, is the safe way.
• 13 to 15: Swagbucks takes members from 13 and encourages them to get a parent's permission first. You can also start making things on Roblox, and cash out through DevEx from 13.
• 16 and over: more apps are open to you, Freecash among them.

That matters because most Roblox players are young. Roblox has been asking players to check their age. By January 31, 2026, 45% of daily users had done so, and of those, 35% were under 13 and 38% were 13 to 17. That's about 73% under 18, going by Roblox's shareholder letter of February 5, 2026.

Adults are the group growing fastest, though. In the US, Roblox's 18 to 34 group grew by over 50% in a year, going by its letter of April 30, 2026.
