We build PaysFair, an earning app that competes with this one. Judge our bias accordingly, and check every number below against the sources at the bottom.
Cash Giraffe is legit in the basic sense: justDice GmbH in Hamburg runs it, and it pays to PayPal from $0.20 or in gift cards. What it asks in return sits in the fine print. Gems have no fixed rate, payouts arrive in euros, and it reads the list of apps on your phone.
We have not used Cash Giraffe ourselves. No account, no install, nothing cashed out. On October 23, 2026, we read its terms, privacy policy, imprint and all 32 articles of its help center from a US server. We also read its How It Works page, both app store records and a press release from Bertelsmann.
Who runs Cash Giraffe?
Its terms say the app "is offered and operated by justDice GmbH". Its imprint gives An der Alster 42 in Hamburg and the register entry HRB 141399, and says "Cash Giraffe is part of justDice GmbH". Google Play names the same company and address.
On Apple's App Store, the seller is GR Apps GmbH, and Cash Giraffe is its only US app. We found no page that explains how the two companies are linked.
The company is one of four in the applike group, also based in Hamburg. In April 2022, Bertelsmann Investments, which held a stake in the group, said it valued the group at €500 million. Its release called justDice "the leading loyalty program for mobile gamers".
Cash Giraffe's own pages count "over 10 million players" and "$4.4 million paid out to date".
Who can use Cash Giraffe?
You must be over 18, its terms say. Its privacy policy says it asks for your date of birth to check that. The two app stores rate it differently:
| Store | Age rating | Stars on October 23 |
|---|---|---|
| Google Play | Everyone | 4.5 from 663,489 reviews |
| App Store | 18+ | 4.6 from 21,895 ratings |
There's no country list on its pages. Its home page says it's "Available in multiple countries: including South Africa and the Philippines". The rewards you see "may vary depending on your country", its help center adds.
The iPhone app reads differently, too. Apple's listing describes "surveys, tasks, and offers" and doesn't mention games. The Android listing is built around games, and the help center's earning rules refer to the Play Store.
How does Cash Giraffe pay you?
You can cash out "from as little as $0.20 to PayPal", its home page says, or take gift cards from brands such as Amazon, Starbucks and Google Play. Coupons and vouchers sit in the rewards section too. We found no Cash App or Venmo option on its pages.
You'll get paid in euros. "We pay out rewards in EUR in all countries", its help center says. The euro amount matches the one shown in the app, and you can convert it inside PayPal.
| Question | Cash Giraffe's answer | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Smallest PayPal cash-out | $0.20 | Home page |
| PayPal speed | Within a few hours, or up to 5 business days | Home page, help center |
| Gift card speed | Up to 7 business days | Help center |
| Currency | Euros, in every country | Help center |
| Failed payout | Refunded in 7 business days | Help center |
Watch your PayPal account after you cash out. PayPal may ask you to accept the payment, and "If you take no action, PayPal might automatically cancel the payout we sent you", its help center says. You can't link more than one PayPal address to an account.
How much is a Cash Giraffe gem worth?
There's no fixed rate. Its How It Works page says gems "convert 1:1 into real money or gift cards". Its terms say each reward follows "an exchange rate set by the Provider per award", which it may "continuously change and adjust".
Your level changes the price too, by its help center:
| Level | Reward cost | Payouts |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | Base cost | Most rewards |
| Silver | 10% fewer gems | Bigger ones |
| Gold | 30% fewer gems | The largest |
What can you make? Its home page estimates $5 to $20 a month for casual players at 2 to 3 hours a week. Active players at 5 hours or more get $30 to $100 or more a month, it says. "Individual results vary," it adds. By our arithmetic, the casual range comes to about 40 cents to $2.30 an hour.
How do you earn gems on Cash Giraffe?
You install games from its Discover tab. Gems come for the time you play and for levels and tasks you reach. Surveys pay gems too, and they typically take 2 to 10 minutes, its home page says.
The rules for a game to count are strict. It must be new to your phone and installed through Cash Giraffe. You need to allow usage tracking and play for at least 5 minutes right after you install it. "If you uninstall the game, we won't be able to track your progress for it," its help center says.
Games pay for "about 90 days after installation" on average. Pay also slows within a game: "If you play one game for a long time, it gradually becomes more challenging to accumulate gems."
Extras raise the pay. Boosts multiply rewards for newly installed games by 1.5 in the evening, by 2 on weekends, or by 3 for one hour a day. Daily streaks and quests add more. Inviting a friend pays 200 gems plus "25% of their rewards forever".
Who pays for it? Its How It Works page says "game developers pay Cash Giraffe when players spend time in their games, and Cash Giraffe shares a portion of that revenue with you." Our guide to games that pay real money explains that model.
Does Cash Giraffe cost money?
Joining is free. Its Google Play listing promises "no deposits, no in-app purchases", and its terms say you use the app "without the collection of fees or costs".
Spending still earns you more. Purchase Cashback pays "20% cashback on each purchase, with a maximum of $20 cashback per game" when you spend at least $1 in a game. Its terms count "purchasing services and virtual items" in partner games as a way to earn.
A new level system, open to "a limited amount of users" so far, asks for money at the top. "Upgrading to Gold and Platinum, and keeping those levels, requires collecting gems for playing AND spending a certain amount in games," its help center says. In that system, levels also unlock PayPal.
Does Cash Giraffe ask for ID or a selfie?
A selfie, yes. We didn't find any request for an ID document. Its own pages disagree on who has to take the selfie:
| Page | What it says |
|---|---|
| Terms | "Before any payouts are made" |
| Privacy policy | When you first request a payout |
| How It Works | Android only, "occasionally"; none on iPhone |
The privacy policy says the selfie becomes an "anonymous digital user ID" that is "not linked to your account". It checks that a real person earned the gems, and that the same person isn't cashing out on another account. Cash Giraffe deletes the selfies "4 weeks after your bonus has been disbursed". If the automatic check fails, a person reviews your request.
Why do Cash Giraffe accounts get blocked?
Its help center lists reasons that "may include but are not limited to" these:
- several phones on one IP address
- more than one account tied to one PayPal
- a reset advertising ID or a changed operating system
- a VPN, or a location that differs from the one you signed up in
"VPN is NOT allowed", it adds. Its terms let it exclude you "without stating the specific reason". When PayPal or gift cards vanish from your rewards, "it may be due to the suspension of your account", its help center says.
Some blocks were its own error. A help article last edited on July 14, 2026 says a technical issue caused "a number of accounts to be mistakenly restricted or blocked" from Monday, July 13. It promised to lift those blocks automatically within 48 hours. The notice was still up on October 23.
Support works by chatbot and ticket, "from Monday 9 AM until Friday 6 PM CET".
How do you keep your Cash Giraffe gems?
Stay on one phone. You can't move your account to a new device, and you "may only have one account per device", its help center says.
Redeem within a year. Its terms call gems coins, and they expire "one year after they are credited" unless you redeem them first. After you or Cash Giraffe cancel, you have six months to redeem what's left.
Don't delete the account with gems in it. Deleting it means you "will lose all accumulated gems".
What does Cash Giraffe do with your data?
A lot, by its privacy policy of December 1, 2020. At install, it receives a list of the apps on your phone, including ones you've deleted, with "a use history of all these apps". After that, it logs which apps run in the foreground and for how long, and "each click or typing of a key within Cash Giraffe".
The policy warns that this data "results in an interest profile" that may contain "particularly sensitive personal data". It names health data and sexual orientation as examples. It also passes your device ID to app makers "for billing purposes".
Its Google Play data safety form lists installed apps as data that may be shared with other companies. Its App Store label says your contact info, identifiers and usage data "may be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies". Its How It Works page says: "We never sell user data to third parties."
German law applies, its terms say, and for users outside Germany, the place of jurisdiction is Hamburg.
Who is Cash Giraffe for?
It suits an adult with one Android phone who likes trying new casual games. It works best if you play a few minutes right after each install and cash out small amounts often. It doesn't suit anyone who wants a fixed rate or payouts in dollars. Nor does it suit someone who'd rather keep their app list private.
Is Cash Giraffe worth it? Our verdict, October 23, 2026
Cash Giraffe pays real money, names a German company behind it, and sets a low floor of $0.20. The trade is data and control. It sees your apps and how you use them, sets and changes its gem prices itself, and pays in euros. Its newest levels, still in a test, ask you to spend money in games.
Use it the careful way. One phone, games kept installed, small cash-outs before your gems turn a year old, and no VPN.
We build PaysFair, which competes with Cash Giraffe, so weigh that. PaysFair pays out as a gift card by email, from $1.00.
What we couldn't check about Cash Giraffe
We didn't use the app, so there's no first-hand payout time or gem rate here. Several reviews we read put the smallest cash-out at $0.20 to $0.50, depending on the country. Cash Giraffe's own pages say from $0.20.
We couldn't find a page linking justDice GmbH to GR Apps GmbH, the App Store seller. The Better Business Bureau had no file for Cash Giraffe or justDice when we searched on October 23, 2026. Cash Giraffe's own legitimacy page turned our server away with a rate-limit error, so we couldn't read it.
We'll check all of this again by January 23, 2027.
