JustPlay review: is it legit, and how do you keep your coins?

JustPlay pays coins for playing its own games, cashed out to PayPal or gift cards, usually with no minimum. Expect a face scan, and keep the app installed.

We build PaysFair, an earning app that competes with this one. Judge our bias accordingly, and check every number below against the sources at the bottom.

JustPlay is legit in the way that matters first: JustPlay GmbH in Berlin runs it, and it pays out to PayPal, gift cards or a donation. What trips people up is the rest. There's a face scan at your first cash-out, no published coin rate, and an account that lives and dies with one install of the app.

We have not used JustPlay ourselves. No account, no install, nothing cashed out. We read its terms, its privacy policy with its face-data policy, and 12 help articles from a US server on October 23, 2026. We also read both app store records and two reports on its new owner.

Who runs JustPlay?

Its terms and imprint name JustPlay GmbH, Monbijouplatz 5, in Berlin, with the register entry HRB 222659 B. Its iPhone app is sold by Gimica GmbH, and its face-data policy names both companies.

South Korea's NCSoft completed the purchase of a 70% stake in JustPlay at the beginning of June 2026, the State of Berlin's GamesCapitalBerlin site reported. The same report puts JustPlay's 2025 revenue at about $172.8 million and its profit at about $19.1 million. North America brings in around 70% of it.

JustPlay makes its own games. It runs "more than 40 mobile casual games that it has developed and published", The Korea Times reported, and players "watch advertisements to earn loyalty coins". Our guide to games that pay real money explains that model.

On October 23, 2026, the Android app had 4.4 stars from 1.77 million reviews and 10M+ downloads. The iPhone app had 4.7 stars from 218,882 ratings.

Who can use JustPlay?

You must be 18 or older when you register, its terms say. Its face scan also checks that "users are not underaged minors", by its face-data policy.

We found no country list on its pages. Its terms carry separate rules for US users and for users in the EU and elsewhere.

How does JustPlay pay you?

You can cash out to PayPal, take gift cards such as Amazon, or donate to one of six nonprofits, which JustPlay says it matches. We found no Cash App or Venmo option on its pages.

There's "usually no minimum threshold", its terms say, though JustPlay may ask for three hours of play before you can redeem. Both store listings say you can cash out every 3 hours. PayPal money "should be visible on your PayPal balance within just a moment", its help center says.

How much is a coin worth? JustPlay doesn't say. Its terms say coins convert into rewards "during defined cash-out periods", and that the amounts "depend on a range of usage-based factors and are awarded at JustPlay's sole discretion".

How do you earn on JustPlay?

You play its featured casual games and collect loyalty coins, and the more you play, the more coins you get. The Android listing counts "30+ games". Watching ads in some games adds more.

Challenges pay reward boxes worth up to $1, $5 or $30. Daily Rewards run on a 30-day cycle, with tasks of about 5 to 15 minutes. There's also an offerwall, and a task there that doesn't pay is a matter for the offerwall's own support, its help center says.

Does JustPlay pay real money?

Yes, by its own pages, to PayPal or as gift cards. The Korea Times describes a reward platform that "shares a portion of advertising revenue with users".

Its pages disagree on how sure that money is. Its help center's About page promises "Guaranteed daily payouts". Its terms say "JustPlay guarantees no profits to the User", and that no user is entitled to "a particular or defined Reward".

Does JustPlay work in Canada or the UK?

We found no country list on its pages. Its terms give refund rights on in-app purchases to residents of the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and separate rules to US users. North America brings in around 70% of its revenue, by the Berlin report.

Does JustPlay ask for ID or a face scan?

Yes to the face scan. Before your first cash-out, you scan your face with your phone's camera and give it a photo. Its face-data policy says it compares your face data with that of other users from the last four months, to stop one person running several accounts.

What it takesHow long it keeps itUsed for
Face dataUp to 4 monthsReal-person, fraud and age checks
Photo of your faceUp to 1 monthThe same checks

It says it doesn't sell either, or share them with the company behind its face-scan software.

If your camera is broken, you can't cash out: "We currently don't have an alternative method for verification", its help center says. If your face is already linked to another account, you can't open new ones on other devices.

How do you keep your JustPlay coins?

Keep the app installed. Uninstalling it, clearing its data or moving to a new phone "permanently removes all related in-app progress and earnings", its help center says. JustPlay doesn't support logging back in after a reinstall, and it can't merge accounts.

Redeem within six months. Coins expire "six months after being credited" if you don't redeem them, its terms say.

Leave your advertising ID alone. If you change it or use more than one account, JustPlay may block or delete the account and forfeit the coins.

What does JustPlay do with your data?

Its privacy policy says it discloses identifiers, internet activity and geolocation for cross-context behavioral advertising, which California law treats as a "sale" or "sharing". The app needs your location "to determine your market". Its fraud checks evaluate your IP address, email address and gaming behavior automatically, and can exclude you.

Its Google Play record says it shares your precise location, partly for advertising or marketing. Its App Store label says your location, identifiers and usage data may be used to track you across other companies' apps and websites.

For US users, disputes go to courts in New York City, one by one with no class actions, and claims are limited to out-of-pocket costs. For other users, German law applies.

Who is JustPlay for?

It suits an adult who plays casual games on one phone, keeps the app installed, and accepts a face scan. It doesn't suit anyone who changes phones often or wants a coin rate in writing. Nor does it suit someone who won't share location data.

Is JustPlay worth it? Our verdict, October 23, 2026

JustPlay pays real money, names its company, and usually sets no minimum. It's backed by a big game company now. The catch is control: no published coin rate, a face scan with no alternative, and an account you lose with one uninstall.

Use it the careful way. One phone, the app kept installed, and a cash-out before six months pass.

We build PaysFair, which competes with JustPlay, so weigh that. PaysFair pays out as a gift card by email, from $1.00.

What we couldn't check about JustPlay

We didn't use the app, so there's no first-hand payout time or coin rate here.

We couldn't find a country list. The Better Business Bureau had no profile for JustPlay when we searched on October 23, 2026.

Claims sites describe a class settlement in an Illinois biometric privacy case, Brewer v. JustPlay (Sangamon County, No. 2025LA000230). We couldn't find the court record or an official settlement page, so we don't rely on it.

The Berlin report says users shouldn't expect immediate changes from the new owner. We'll check all of this again by January 23, 2027.
