No code gives free Robux. Roblox says there's no such thing as free Robux codes, and calls any offer of free Robux a scam. Real codes do exist: promo codes give free items, and the codes that turn into Robux are ones somebody paid for, like gift cards.
Age matters here too. Roblox reported in February 2026 that 73% of its daily users who had checked their age were under 18. Roblox's gift card terms ask anyone under 18 to get a parent's or guardian's consent before redeeming a card.
This page sorts the Roblox codes people mix up by who pays for each one and what it gives. We also read nine code lists that rank in US search, on 26 September 2026, and noted what their codes give.
Are there free Robux codes?
No. Roblox's help centre is blunt: "There is no such thing as free Robux or subscription offers, tricks, or codes." If a person, video, website or game says otherwise, Roblox calls it a scam. It's also a break of Roblox's Terms of Use.
The Ways to Get Robux page agrees. Robux are bought from Roblox with real money, or earned by people who make things on Roblox.
Those offers want something from you. Roblox says they're after your password, your personal details or a click on a bad link. Their goal is your account, with all its Robux and items. Our page on free Robux scams has more on them.
What are real Robux codes?
Several kinds of code turn up around Roblox, and they're easy to mix up. What sets them apart is who paid and what you get.
| Kind of code | Who pays for it | What it gives | Where you redeem it | Is it real? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Promo code | Usually nobody: Roblox hands them out at events and giveaways | A free item | roblox.com/redeem | Yes, until it expires |
| Gift card code | Whoever bought the card | Roblox Credit (Robux on some cards), plus a free item | roblox.com/redeem, in a web browser | Yes |
| Retail code (Mini Pack coin, Party Pack card) | Whoever bought the pack | 50 Robux per coin, 200 per Party Pack card | roblox.com/redeem, in a web browser | Yes |
| Toy code | Whoever bought the toy | An item for your avatar | roblox.com/redeem | Yes |
| Game code | Nobody: the game's makers give it away | A reward in that one game, with no Robux value | Inside that game | Yes |
| Star Code | You, at the normal price | Nothing extra: the creator got 5% | At checkout | It was, but it added no Robux |
| "Free Robux code" | Nobody | Nothing: Roblox calls it a scam | Nowhere | No |
Most of these go into one box. We read Roblox's redeem page from a US connection on 26 September 2026. It's titled "Redeem Roblox Gift Cards and Codes", and its short summary says a gift card or promo code gets you Robux and a free item.
A gift card can bring both. Roblox says every card includes a free virtual item. A promo code is another matter: Roblox's own help article describes redeeming one "for the virtual item".
Do Roblox promo codes give you Robux?
Roblox's own pages describe promo codes as codes for items, and have since at least 2015. We read copies the Internet Archive saved from 2015 on, and today's pages.
In January 2015, the promo code page called itself "the place to claim your goods". By July 2019 it said: "Valid codes will earn you a virtual good that will be added to your Roblox account". Every copy of the help article we read, from July 2019 to today, heads its steps "How do I redeem my promo code for the virtual item?"
Two lines on the Roblox pages we read do put promo codes and Robux together, and both cover every kind of code at once. One is the redeem page summary above. The other joined the help article between our April 2021 and June 2022 copies: you'll get "Credit, Robux, or a Virtual item", depending on the type of code.
Both sit where promo codes and gift cards share one box. By August 2022, the old address roblox.com/promocodes was sending visitors to roblox.com/redeem.
Credit and Robux come from codes people buy. Roblox's gift card terms say cards turn into Credit, except "certain specially-marked" cards that give Robux directly. Its Retail Codes page, added in May 2026, covers codes "you buy" that give Robux.
What we can't prove is that no promo code has ever given Robux. We read Roblox's pages on the dates they were saved, not every promotion Roblox has run.
Which Roblox promo codes still work?
We didn't type any code anywhere. We read nine code-list pages that ranked in a US search on 26 September 2026, and noted what each said its codes give. A tenth page blocked us.
| Code | What the lists say it gives | Lists saying it works | Lists saying it expired |
|---|---|---|---|
| SPIDERCOLA | Spider Cola, a shoulder item | 9 | 0 |
| FREENGNBOI | The Nguyen Boi avatar bundle | 5 | 3 |
| FREENGNGON | The Nguyen Gon avatar bundle | 4 | 4 |
| TWEETROBLOX | "The Bird Says" shoulder item | 2 | 4 |
Where a row doesn't add up to nine, the other lists left that code out.
None of the nine lists named a code that gives Robux. Each code in the table gives a bundle or a shoulder item. Some lists add codes for single games, and those give items or in-game boosts like spins and coins.
The lists don't agree with each other, though. Three of the four codes are "working" on some pages and "expired" on others, even between pages updated in September 2026. One page listed 11 game codes as usable "right now". Further down, it listed the same codes as "no longer available".
The item all nine say SPIDERCOLA gives is in Roblox's own catalogue. Spider Cola is a shoulder accessory Roblox made in May 2019, and the catalogue marks it as not for sale.
If a code fails, it may simply have ended. Roblox says promo codes are often available for a limited time only.
Do star codes on Roblox give you Robux?
No. A Star Code sent part of your purchase to a creator you liked, and gave you nothing extra.
Roblox's Star Code page, as the Internet Archive saved it on 1 February 2026, said the creator earns 5% of your Robux purchase. You'd "still receive the full amount of Robux you paid for". The "added bonus" it named was "knowing that you've contributed to your favorite Video Star".
That help page is gone now. On 26 September 2026 its address showed a "page you were looking for doesn't exist" message. The help centre had no other Star Code article either.
Roblox's Video Stars page, updated December 2025, still tells creators to say they're paid a commission when fans use their code. We couldn't confirm whether Star Codes still work at checkout.
How do you redeem a Roblox code?
Use a web browser, not the Roblox app. These are Roblox's own steps:
- Go to roblox.com/redeem.
- Log in to the account you want the code on.
- Type the code in the box.
- Click Redeem, and wait for the message that says it worked.
For a toy code, gently scratch off the covering first. Then look for the item in your inventory, under the right category, like hat or backpack.
A gift card turns into Roblox Credit, unless it's one of the Robux-only kinds. On the same page, Get Robux picks the largest Robux package your credit covers. Amazon and Party Pack cards give Robux straight away, and so do Mini Pack coins. You can redeem as many cards as you like, one at a time.
Codes for a single game work differently. You type them inside that game. Roblox's rules say their rewards can't have any value in Robux or real money.
Can you redeem Roblox codes on mobile?
Not in the standard Roblox app. Roblox says redeeming isn't available in the standard mobile app or on consoles, so use a web browser.
Samsung Galaxy phones are the one exception. There, the Roblox app has a Redeem tile on its More page. Credit from a gift card only works in a web browser, though, and you won't see it in the app.
Why is my Roblox code not working?
Roblox's first suggestion is a misread character. Letters and numbers often look alike, it says, so try these swaps:
| If you typed | Try |
|---|---|
| 0 (zero) | O (the letter) |
| 1 (one) | I (capital i) |
| 2 | Z |
| 5 | S |
| 6 | G or Q |
| 8 | B |
If that isn't it, check these:
- You're in the app. Codes need a web browser, except on Samsung Galaxy phones.
- You're on the wrong account. Roblox adds the reward to whichever account is logged in.
- You already own the item. Roblox suggests checking your inventory first. A toy code works once per account.
- The code has ended. Promo codes often run for a short time only.
- It says it's already been redeemed. The Robux may be on another account you use. If a retail code was sealed when you bought it, Roblox asks you to contact support with your receipt and the code.
What if a Roblox gift card code is scratched off?
Know the rule first. Roblox's gift card terms say the value of a lost, damaged or stolen card won't be replaced.
If you still can't redeem a card, Roblox's help page asks you to contact support. It lists what to send, including:
- your username and your country
- the date, amount, store and city of purchase
- the card's PIN and serial number
- photos of the receipt and of the card's front and back
Keep the receipt when you buy a card. Roblox asks for it when a card won't redeem, and its retail code terms say a receipt can help if you have an issue with a code.
Do Roblox codes expire?
Promo codes do. Roblox says they "may expire or only be active for a short period of time", so use one right away.
US gift cards don't. Roblox's US gift card terms, last updated April 30, 2026, say "Cards do not expire", and they charge no inactivity fees. The two Roblox toy code pages we read give no end date for toy codes.
What are unused Robux codes?
They're lists that promise gift card codes nobody has used yet. We searched "free robux gift card codes" from the US on 26 September 2026. Four of the nine results sat on sites that have nothing to do with Roblox.
Those four were a film database, a county government's document store, a university lab's wiki and an EU agency's events page. We read the film database page as plain page code, without opening any link.
Its "list" held no codes at all, and said so: "There are no items added to this list". Its one instruction was to copy a short link into your browser. The EU agency's page was gone when we checked.
A real gift card code carries value somebody paid for. Roblox's terms say the value of a card used without permission won't be replaced. Keep your own code private, and never post it or send it to anyone.
Cheap codes from other sellers are a risk too. Roblox's gift card terms say cards from unauthorized sellers or auction sites aren't valid and won't be honored.
Cheap Robux carries the same risk. One of the nine code lists sits on a marketplace that offers Robux top-ups "WAY cheaper". Roblox's terms say it doesn't recognize outside services that sell or transfer Robux, and that using one breaks the terms.
Is a free Robux QR code real?
No. The only Roblox QR code for Robux that we found works the other way round. With Gifting Robux, a player shares a link or QR code, and somebody else pays for the Robux.
It's only open to some users in the US, and both people must be 18 or older. Roblox tells gifters not to send Robux to people they don't know personally.
The US Federal Trade Commission warns that scammers hide harmful links in QR codes. A scan can lead to a fake site that steals what you type, or install malware. The FTC's advice is to check the web address before you open it.
How do you get a free Robux gift card code?
You earn one, if you're old enough. Some earning apps pay you in points for surveys and other tasks, and let you swap the points for a Roblox gift card. That's the honest version of a free Robux code: it costs your time instead of money.
We build PaysFair, an earning app that competes with the apps below, so check their numbers yourself. PaysFair is for people 16 and over.
- Swagbucks listed Roblox cards on 22 September 2026, at 1,000 SB for a $10 card. Its minimum age is 13, and it encourages members under 18 to get a parent's or guardian's permission first.
- Freecash listed Roblox cards from $5 to $75 on 26 September 2026. You must be at least 16 to use it.
- PrizeRebel takes members from 18, or from 16 with a parent's or guardian's permission, going by its terms as archived in June 2026. Its Roblox page offered "a free Robux gift card code" for "answering opinion surveys, watching videos, or completing signup offers".
If you're under 18, a card earned this way still needs a parent's or guardian's consent before you redeem it, going by Roblox's gift card terms.
Our guide to free Roblox gift cards from surveys compares the apps and shows how many Robux a card becomes. For surveys in general, see our guide to paid surveys.
