Real Amazon gift cards come from Amazon's own programs, like its Shopper Panel and Trade-In, or from apps that pay you in them. Code generators and unsolicited "free card" messages are scams, and Amazon can void a card obtained fraudulently. We read Amazon's own pages on October 23, 2026.

We build PaysFair, an earning app that competes with the apps below, so check their numbers yourself. PaysFair is for people 16 and over.

Where do real free Amazon gift cards come from?

From Amazon itself, or from an app that pays you for your time. We don't list codes: Amazon's terms say gift cards must come from Amazon or an authorized third party.

Amazon Shopper Panel. Amazon's own program pays for receipts from other stores and for short surveys. It's opt-in and invitation-only, open to a limited number of customers 18 and over, with a waitlist for the rest. A receipt from an electronics, clothing or department store pays 70 cents, and one from a grocery, drug or dollar store pays 10 cents, up to $10 a month. So $10 takes 15 receipts at 70 cents, or 100 at 10 cents. The reward arrives as Amazon Balance, or a donation, within the first 48 hours of the next month.

Amazon Trade-In. Amazon pays for eligible items, like phones, video games and electronics, with an Amazon.com gift card worth the trade-in value. The value depends on the item's model, generation and condition. With Instant Payment, the card comes as soon as you create the trade-in. Otherwise Amazon verifies the item within 20 business days of receiving it. It's open to customers with a return address in the contiguous United States.

Amazon's own credit card. Amazon's Prime Visa page offers a $150 Amazon gift card instantly on approval with an eligible Prime membership. It's a credit card, so you'd apply for credit to get it.

Which apps pay in Amazon gift cards?

Several earning apps let you cash out to an Amazon card, paid for surveys, games or app tests. These are their own rules, read October 23, 2026.

AppSmallest cash-outBefore you're paid
Survey Junkie$5An identity check
Freecash$5 to $20, by regionAn ID check with a selfie
MistplayShown in the appAn ID check with a selfie
Testerup$60A face scan, if asked

Mistplay caps rewards at $550 a year, and Freecash can hold offer credits for up to 90 days. Testerup charges no fee on its Amazon card and 5% on PayPal.

Earning apps like ours. PaysFair pays out as a gift card by email, from a $1.00 smallest cash-out, and your first cash-out is checked by hand. Its cash-out screen asks for the amount and the email address the card goes to, with no choice of brand. Tasks done over a VPN or proxy don't count.

Are free Amazon gift card generators real?

No. Amazon's terms say gift cards must come from Amazon or an authorized third party. Amazon can void a card without a refund, and suspend or close the account, if it suspects the card was obtained or used fraudulently. Its rules also bar redeeming a card you got by deceiving the buyer, and buying cards from unauthorized sellers.

You'll see the problem in the search results. In three web searches we ran on October 23, 2026, 9 of the 27 results sat on sites with nothing to do with Amazon or rewards. Two were lists on a movie database, three were PDFs in a university's and an economics group's file uploads, and four were blog posts on unrelated companies' shop sites. Several promised codes or hacks.

Which free Amazon gift card offers are scams?

Each of these warnings comes from Amazon's or the FTC's own pages.

OfferWhat the warning says
A code generator or hackAmazon: only from authorized sellers
A prize with fees paid in cardsFTC: it's a scam
Anyone asking to be paid in cardsFTC: only scammers ask that
A call or text "from Amazon"Amazon: it never asks you to buy one

The FTC says only scammers will tell you to buy a gift card and give them the numbers off the back. Amazon says no legitimate sale or transaction will require you to pay with gift cards. Once a scammer has a claim code, Amazon says, the money will likely be spent before you can reach the police or Amazon. In 2024, the FTC's Consumer Sentinel Network took in 41,120 fraud reports in which people paid by gift card or reload card, with $212 million reported lost.

If it's happened to you, the FTC lists Amazon's number for gift card scams, 1 (888) 280-4331. Keep a copy of the card or the store receipt, and report the scam at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

Can you turn an Amazon gift card into cash?

Mostly, you can't. Amazon's terms say its cards can't be resold, transferred for value or redeemed for cash, except to the extent required by law. Its rules also bar selling or exchanging a card for cash. The good news is that no fees apply, and a balance from cards issued after October 1, 2005 doesn't expire. Our gift card guide covers where state law requires a cash payout.

We read seven pages that rank for free Amazon gift cards on October 23, 2026, and four more wouldn't load for us. Two are earning apps' own pages, and one is a credit card article. None says Amazon can void a card obtained the wrong way, and none mentions the ID checks apps run before a first card. Only two name the FTC. Three mention the Shopper Panel, and none gives its receipt values. One says 10 receipts a month earn $10, while Amazon's own table pays 10 to 70 cents a receipt. Two still list Mechanical Turk, which closed on September 30, 2026. The credit card article still gives a $200 card for new Prime cardholders, while Amazon's own page offered $150 when we read it.
