Cash App gives free money three ways: a referral bonus ($10 in its current terms), card offers that cut prices, and giveaways it announces itself. A "$750 Cash App survey" outside cash.app and its verified accounts isn't Cash App's. We read its rules, and the scams, on October 23, 2026.

We build PaysFair, an earning app that competes with the apps below, so check their numbers yourself. PaysFair is for people 16 and over.

Does Cash App give you free money?

Cash App's own pages describe three routes, and each one comes with rules. We read them on October 23, 2026.

RouteWhat you getThe rule
Referral bonus$10 in its current termsSend $5 within 14 days
Card offersDiscounts at checkoutPay with the Cash App Card
GiveawaysPrizes, when it runs themOnly on cash.app or verified accounts

The referral bonus. Cash App's referral terms, updated in April 2026, give new US customers a $10 bonus. You enter a friend's code, which works once, and link a new debit card or bank account. Then you send $5 within 14 days to another Cash App account that isn't yours or linked to you. Keep a card or bank account linked until the bonus is paid, which happens within 30 days of meeting the rules, one bonus per person. Teens 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian as a sponsor, and a sponsor and their sponsored account can't invite each other.

The amount can differ in your app. Cash App's engineering blog said in 2023 that it "typically" offers between $5 and $15, so check what your app shows.

Card offers. Offers are discounts you use at checkout. Cash App says they let you "save money instantly" when you pay with the Cash App Card at places like coffee shops and restaurants. You add an offer in the app first.

Giveaways. Cash App says it announces giveaways only on cash.app or through verified accounts. It adds that in the US, paying to enter one is illegal, so a giveaway that asks you to pay anything isn't real.

Are Cash App surveys real?

None of the Cash App pages we read describes a paid survey program. So a "$750 Cash App survey" outside cash.app and Cash App's verified accounts doesn't come from Cash App.

The FTC's test for any prize is simple. If you have to pay to get it, or give your financial or personal information, it's a scam. "Real prizes are free," it says.

Which earning apps pay to Cash App?

Few of the big ones do. We took the 35 earning apps with 5 million or more Google Play installs whose payout methods our census recorded on October 12, 2026. Then we re-read the Cash App entries on October 23.

Payout methodApps that name it
PayPal27 of 35
Gift cards27 of 35
Cash App1 of 35

The one is Make Money, whose own site says you can withdraw to PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, bank transfer or gift cards. Our census had listed a second app, Paidwork, but its App Store text names bank transfer and PayPal. It uses "cash app" only as a search phrase.

Google's suggestions show that people who type "free cash app" often mean Freecash, a separate earning app. Its own site lists PayPal, Venmo, more than 100 gift cards and crypto, and no Cash App.

Earning apps like ours. PaysFair pays one way: a gift card by email, from a $1.00 smallest cash-out. Your first cash-out is checked by hand. Money from a finished task stays pending while it's checked. Tasks done over a VPN or proxy don't count.

Which Cash App "free money" offers are scams?

Cash flips. Cash App says every cash flip offer is a scam. The scammer may first send back $20 for your $10.

Pay-to-enter giveaways. A giveaway scam uses the promise of a prize to collect your personal information, your money, or both, Cash App says. A real one never asks you to pay.

Doubled crypto. Cash App's answer to any offer to multiply your bitcoin is blunt: "No one is doubling your bitcoin."

Fake support lines. The CFPB found that Cash App's lack of live phone agents led to fake customer service lines "through which consumers' information would be stolen."

Could Cash App owe you money?

Possibly, if unauthorized transfers hit your account. On January 16, 2025, the CFPB ordered Block, which runs Cash App, to pay at least $75 million and up to $120 million in redress. It also set a $55 million penalty.

The redress includes users whose unauthorized transfers weren't investigated or who didn't get refunds they were entitled to. The CFPB says consumers will not need to take action at this time to get it. Its page for the case lists how to contact Block about redress.

We read five pages on this question on October 23, 2026. Several more results were posts on unrelated organizations' online stores, and the three we tried didn't load. One of the five gives Cash App's send-$5-in-14-days rule. None mentions cash flips, and none tells Freecash apart from Cash App. One mentions the CFPB order, but none says harmed users needn't act.

One ranking guide gives two different referral rules, spending $5 with a newly linked debit card and sending $5. Cash App's current terms say to send $5 to another Cash App account.

Questions people ask about free money on Cash App

Does Cash App give you free money when you sign up?

Only through its referral bonus. Cash App's current terms give new US customers $10 for entering a referral code, linking a new debit card or bank account, and sending $5 to someone else's Cash App account within 14 days. The bonus is paid within 30 days after that.

Is the $750 Cash App survey legit?

Not from Cash App, unless it's on cash.app or one of Cash App's verified accounts, the only places it announces giveaways. The FTC says any prize you must pay for, or hand over financial details to claim, is a scam.

Does the Freecash app pay to Cash App?

No. Freecash is a separate earning app, and its own site lists PayPal, Venmo, more than 100 gift cards and crypto as ways to withdraw, with no Cash App.

Can you get free money on Cash App without paying?

Yes, through Cash App's own referral bonus and the giveaways it announces itself. Cash App says a giveaway that asks you to pay anything isn't real.

Could Cash App owe me money?

Possibly. In January 2025 the CFPB ordered Block, which runs Cash App, to pay at least $75 million and up to $120 million in redress, including to users whose unauthorized transfers weren't investigated or who didn't get refunds they were entitled to. The CFPB says consumers will not need to take action at this time.
