We build PaysFair, an earning app that competes with this one. Judge our bias accordingly, and check every number below against the sources at the bottom.

Qmee is legit in the basic sense: Kantar UK Ltd runs it, and it pays for surveys, cashback and games to PayPal, Venmo and gift cards. There's no minimum for PayPal or Venmo. It only takes residents of six countries, though, and the BBB rates the Kantar file that lists it D-.

We have not used Qmee ourselves. No account, no install, nothing cashed out. On October 23, 2026, we read its terms, FAQ, privacy notice and help pages from a US server. We also read its App Store and Google Play records, the BBB file, Companies House and Kantar's own announcement.

Who runs Qmee?

Its terms, last updated February 2026, name Kantar UK Ltd in London, company 03073845, as the operator. Kantar agreed to buy Qmee on May 13, 2022, its press release says, describing it as "the Reading, UK-based app survey platform and fraud prevention technology provider".

Qmee's own pages name two more companies. Its App Store seller and its site footer still say Qmee Ltd. Its privacy notice is the "Lightspeed Panels Privacy Policy" of October 1, 2026, from Lightspeed LLC in New York, "a Kantar group company". Lightspeed also runs LifePoints, another survey app.

Is Qmee going out of business?

Qmee Ltd is being wound up. Companies House shows a members' voluntary liquidation that began on January 26, 2026, with a declaration of solvency sworn the same day. It's one of the routes GOV.UK lists for closing a company that can pay its bills.

The service runs on under Kantar UK Ltd. Its App Store record shows an update of October 12, 2026. Google's suggestions include "is qmee bankrupt" and "did qmee go out of business".

How does Qmee pay you?

You can cash out to PayPal or Venmo "whenever you like", with "no minimum withdrawal amount". The money "will appear in your account within a few minutes", its FAQ says, though banking hours, public holidays and outside systems "can sometimes cause delays".

PayPal comes with rules. The account must be fully verified, registered in the same country as your Qmee account and not linked to another Qmee account. Once you link it, you can't unlink it, though you can add more. US members can add up to two Venmo accounts.

You can also take gift cards or give to a charity. Qmee takes no commission on donations. A gift card needs an identity check first, and some cards set their own minimum, such as $5. Qmee says it can't reissue a gift card code.

There's no bank transfer on its list. Google suggests "why has qmee removed paypal", but its FAQ and App Store text both still offer PayPal and Venmo.

What does Qmee pay for?

Surveys first. Its terms credit rewards only for surveys that are "fully completed". A streak of five days with a survey or the Daily Ponder adds 10% to your survey rewards.

Cashback offers pay when you buy from a brand through Qmee's link. The reward "can take up to 90 days", and the brand can reject it, for example after a return or a discount code. Qmee also pays for gaming offers, for searches through its browser app, and for a daily quiz.

Its home page says it has paid "Over $45,000,000" to its users.

Does Qmee need ID?

For gift cards, yes. Its terms say "you will need to verify your identity", for example by first cashing out "(any amount) to your PayPal account", or through "an alternative identity checking service". Its FAQ gives the reason: "We don't want anyone taking your hard earned gift cards!"

Its terms also let it ask for "necessary tax reporting information" if its records show you may need to report your rewards.

Why do Qmee accounts get suspended?

Its terms let it suspend an account "at any time at our sole discretion". If "our algorithms suggest" abuse, it may cut your payments or stop them. You may have one account, and earnings on any extra account "will not necessarily be paid".

Its privacy notice adds that automated fraud checks, including your IP address against known fraudsters, "may lead to a decision to deny or terminate panel membership". After such a decision, it promises "human intervention" and a "right of second review". Qmee's own terms don't describe that review.

Staying away costs money too. If your account isn't used for a year, "we will retain the balance in the account", its terms say.

What does Qmee do with your data?

Your survey answers, including your year of birth, ZIP code and gender, go to the survey company running that survey, its terms say. Its FAQ says Qmee "does not share any data with third parties without your permission".

Its Google Play form lists device IDs shared for advertising, and crash logs and app use shared for analytics. Optional data you can give includes race and ethnicity, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation and health. You can switch off surveys that use your webcam or ask for your name and contact details.

The privacy notice keeps your data while you're a member, and "no longer than 3 months after you unsubscribe".

Who can use Qmee?

You must be 16 or older, and a resident of the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, France or Germany, using it from there. Apple rates the app 12+ and Google Play rates it Everyone, but the terms ask for 16.

What happens if you have a dispute?

In the US, its terms follow New York law and send disputes to one arbitrator in New York under the American Arbitration Association's rules. You share the costs equally, though the arbitrator may have Qmee pay the fees if they'd be a hardship for you. You can take part by phone. Class actions and a jury are waived.

In the UK, the English courts decide. The terms still point unresolved complaints to the European Commission's online dispute platform, which the Commission closed on July 20, 2025.

What do the BBB and the app stores say?

The Better Business Bureau has one file for Kantar that lists Qmee as another name. It rates it D-, for "Failure to respond to 20 complaint(s)", and counts 25 complaints in three years and 14 in the last 12 months. Several recent ones describe earnings their writers couldn't cash out.

WhereRatingBased on
Better Business BureauD-25 complaints in 3 years
App Store4.6 stars34,845 ratings
Google Play4.2 stars113K reviews
Trustpilot3.510,117 reviews

All four were read on October 23, 2026. Google Play also showed 1M+ installs, and Qmee replied to 99% of its negative Trustpilot reviews.

Who is Qmee for?

It suits an adult in one of its six countries who wants small, quick cash-outs to PayPal or Venmo and doesn't mind screen-outs. It doesn't suit anyone elsewhere, anyone who wants a bank transfer, or anyone who wants a written appeal process in the terms. Our Qmee alternatives page compares six survey apps for those cases.

Is Qmee worth it? Our verdict, October 23, 2026

Qmee's money side is simple and generous: no minimum for PayPal or Venmo, minutes to arrive by its FAQ, and cashback on top. Kantar, a large research group, stands behind it.

The catches sit in its rules and its record. It's open in six countries. A year away costs you the balance, and its algorithms can cut your payments. The BBB file that lists it is rated D- for unanswered complaints, and its own pages name three different companies.

We build PaysFair, which competes with Qmee, so weigh that. PaysFair pays out as a gift card by email, from $1.00.

What we couldn't check about Qmee

We didn't use the app, so there's no payout time or survey count of our own here. Users have posted about a PayPal pause in early 2026, but we found no notice from Qmee, so this page says only what its FAQ says today. The BBB and Trustpilot pages were read through a page renderer.

Its "How it works" page still calls Qmee one of the best ways to make money online "in 2023". We'll check all of this again by January 23, 2027.
