HeyCash review: is it legit, and how does it really pay out?

We build PaysFair, an earning app that competes with this one. Judge our bias accordingly, and check every number below against the sources at the bottom.

HeyCash is legit in the basic sense: Hey Cash AB in Stockholm runs it, and it pays for games, surveys and offers to PayPal, Venmo, bank accounts and gift cards. Its own pages disagree on the floor and on the speed, though. And it has no iPhone app in the US.

We have not used HeyCash ourselves. No account, no install, nothing cashed out. On October 23, 2026, we read its US terms, privacy policy, FAQ, countries list and seven of its help and guide pages from a US server. We also read its Google Play record and searched Apple's US store and the Better Business Bureau.

Who runs HeyCash?

Its US terms name Hey Cash AB, Sveavägen 17 in Stockholm, Sweden, as the provider. Google Play names the same company. The terms also name a parent company at the same address, in the care of Aonic AB, which may pay members directly.

Those terms are word for word the same as EarnStar's and Prime Opinion's, apart from the brand and one contact link. All three name the same parent company. Aonic, a Stockholm technology and gaming group, bought that parent for $250 million, Research Live reported on September 4, 2025.

On October 23, 2026, the Android app had 4.5 stars from 257K reviews and 1M+ installs. Its home page claims "1.5 M+" downloads and "4.8 stars".

Is HeyCash the same as Freecash or EarnStar?

It shares an owner with EarnStar and Prime Opinion, by their terms. Freecash belongs to a different company, Almedia GmbH in Berlin, by its own terms.

Who can use HeyCash?

You must be 18 or older, its help pages say, and its privacy policy says the same. Google Play rates the app Everyone.

Its countries page lists 71 countries and territories, from the US, Canada and the UK to India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Nigeria and Kenya. Use the account only where you live: tasks done outside your country "can be seen as fraudulent", its terms say. You may have one account.

We couldn't find a HeyCash app on Apple's US App Store on October 23, 2026. A listing that search results still show, "HeyCash - Earn Free Cash Now", returned nothing in Apple's US, UK and Canadian stores. Its own payout guide says "The app is also highly rated on the App Store".

How does HeyCash pay you?

You can cash out to PayPal, Venmo, a bank transfer or Revolut, or take gift cards from brands such as Walmart, Amazon, Apple and Netflix. Its home page counts "More than 318 Rewards". HeyCash doesn't charge a fee of its own to cash out, its payout guide says.

Your balance is in points, at 1,000 points to the dollar. New accounts start with $1, or 1,000 points.

How much do you need? Its own pages don't agree:

The payout guide adds that single gift cards can set their own amounts.

How long does HeyCash take to pay?

Its FAQ says "Withdrawals are instant". Its payout guide says "Payouts aren't instant", and that "a first cash-out can wait on our review first".

Before a PayPal cash-out, it runs "a short confirmation step" that checks your PayPal email and "flags a sign-in from a new IP address". After that, the time depends on PayPal.

PayPal's paid Instant Transfer takes minutes, the guide adds.

What does HeyCash pay for?

Games, surveys and offers. Its home page lists $0.50 to $120 a game, $0.50 to $6.00 a survey of 2 to 10 minutes, and $1.00 to $75 an app offer. "Earn up to $50 per day," it says.

Its FAQ says its best members "earn up to $1,200 per month". A survey that screens you out still credits "a smaller amount", the payout guide says.

Who pays for it? Its terms say the tasks are arranged between you and "external advertising partners".

Does HeyCash require ID?

It may. Its terms allow a check before "any payout" that "may involve the collection and processing of biometric data". Its privacy policy says it "may request a facial scan" before releasing payouts.

Why is HeyCash reviewing my account?

A first cash-out "can wait on our review first", its payout guide says, and a sign-in from a new IP address gets flagged. Don't open a second account while you wait.

Its terms let it suspend an account for signs of fraud or broken rules, or "if Provider has any other legitimate interest". They ban VPNs and proxies. They can also restrict payouts to a payment account that another member has already used.

Support works through a contact form. "HeyCash has no live chat and no customer service phone line," its support guide says. Its FAQ says the team is "available 24/7" and "speaks over 20 languages".

What does HeyCash do with your data?

Its Google Play form says it shares no data with third parties, and collects your list of installed apps and your approximate location. Its privacy policy, effective September 25, 2026, adds that it may read which apps you use, and when, if you agree.

You can add sensitive details to match more surveys, such as race or ethnicity, pregnancy status and political opinions. It keeps payout data for about 7 years.

California residents can ask it not to sell their data. Its form warns: "If you have an existing account with us, this account will be deleted as well."

What happens if you have a dispute?

Its US terms, version 1 of November 2025, follow New York law. Disputes go to "confidential arbitration in Stockholm" under the rules of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, with no class actions and no jury.

You have one year to bring a claim. Its liability is capped at $100, or at what you paid it in the six months before, whichever is greater.

Who is HeyCash for?

It suits an adult in one of its 71 countries and territories who plays mobile games and takes surveys on Android. It works best if you cash out a first $5 early, from your usual connection. It doesn't suit iPhone users in the US, or anyone who'd want a US court over arbitration in Stockholm.

Is HeyCash worth it? Our verdict, October 23, 2026

HeyCash names its company, pays to PayPal, Venmo, banks and gift cards, and works in 71 countries and territories. The catch is its own pages. They disagree on the floor and the speed, a face scan may come before a payout, and its terms send US disputes to Stockholm.

It also runs on the same terms as EarnStar and Prime Opinion. Leaving one for another keeps the same rules under a new brand.

What we couldn't check about HeyCash

We didn't use the app, so there's no first-hand payout time or floor here. The Better Business Bureau didn't have a file under HeyCash when we searched on October 23, 2026.

One 2025 review reported that points expire a year after they're credited. We didn't find that rule in its current US terms. We'll check all of this again by January 23, 2027.
